The Legend has a left side 1″ handle bar mounted switch and an optional 1 ¼″ bar mounted switch that is attached to the clutch housing.

Easier access if (and you will, IMO) you have to replace the compressor. The Legend uses a compressor mount that bolts in between the exhaust mount and frame (a problem here with some exhaust systems). If you take your bike to a dealer for service and they don’t have a way to suck out the oil out of the transmission, there will be added labor time to remove or partially the shocks to access the drain plug. You will need a motorcycle jack to raise the bike off the ground to remove or partially remove the shock system to access the drain plug. Solid body shocks like Shotgun, Air FX and Simplified Air Systems (SAS) will tell you that this shouldn’t be a problem since the transmission oil is changed every 5000 miles. The Legends will let you access the transmission drain plug with out removing the shocks. I have the Legend 元 on my 08 night train and these are the pros and cons as I see it. How many vendors would do that for you?Ĭheck out this link to see a side-by-side comparison. Send them to me, and I'll take a look at them." He replaced all of the valves/ seals, etc, AND upgraded me to the newer style compressor, and return shipped to my door- FOR FREE. A small issue arose, so I reached out to JD, fearful that he'd say "sorry, but you didn't buy them from me." His response was quite the opposite. He said "here's the address. I bought my Shotgun Shocks from a vendor off eBay for WAY less than the retail price. He answers the phone (as well as email), and is quick to reply to messages.

If you have any questions, feel free to call JD (the designer/ owner of Shotgun). Also, the customer service from Shotgun is TOP NOTCH. My biggest complaint about the Legend system is the "pogo effect." I couldn't find a good place to ride.If I had too much pressure and hit a bump, I'd come out of the seat Not enough pressure and hit a bump would jar the lower back. Shotgun uses 2 different toggles- 1 for ride height, 1 for rebound. Legend uses 1 toggle, and it only adjusts the ride height. and comes complete with a one year warranty.I've had both, and can say with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY, that the Shotgun set-up is far better than the Legend system for the Softail. Furthermore, the system is also 100% made in the U.S.A.
